Security Portal: Weekly Linux Security Digest 2000/12/25 to 2000/12/31

“Happy new year. If you’re sober and not hung over, you
should probably go get a drink, as very little happened over the
holidays. A few Debian advisories, and for the first time in over
two months, a TurboLinux advisory — wow, huh?”

“Last time I said something nasty about a vendor, I got in
trouble with the vendor. In the spirit of Xmas, I won’t say
anything nasty about a certain vendor (who used to be great for
security response but is absolutely horrible now). Well, that’s out
of my system now, and I feel a lot better.”

“We lead off with general advisories and exploit code, then move
to vendor advisories. Most items appear in alphabetical order. If
we’re missing a Linux vendor’s advisory, please tell us —
ditto for any Linux-related security alerts. The long strings of
hex in front of package names are MD5 signatures.”
