The impending release of sendmail 8.10 marks the biggest
feature release in sendmail’s history. That makes Sendmail’s lead
engineer Greg Shapiro a very busy guy.
He’s also a very nice
guy, as he demonstrated by putting his work on hold long enough to
tell us what’s in sendmail 8.10 and how it got there….”

“What were the principal objectives you set for yourselves after
the 8.9 release?”

“While working on sendmail 8.9, we were forced to limit the
number of new features in order to quickly release a strong
anti-spam toolkit. Therefore, many great ideas and contributions
had to wait for the next version. In 8.10, we tried to catch up on
our “to do” list and integrate the changes that were delayed during
8.9 development.”
