A series of developments next year should help Linux continue
its evolution as an enterprise OS.
Caldera will release a product called Fenris I for Linux that
lets you run NT and NetWare file systems natively on a Linux
server.
Additionally, Linux kernel 2.2 will natively support the
forthcoming Coda file system, which uses such features as
persistent caching and security to offer Linux a file system on par
with NT File System and NetWare File System.
GNOME has been frozen and is scheduled to enter beta testing
this week.
