“The Sun-Netscape alliance is starting to make good on
its Linux promises. The group, now called iPlanet E-Commerce
Solutions, offers Red Hat Linux versions of its messaging, Web
server, and enterprise software.
IPlanet, formerly the Sun-Netscape Alliance created in
conjunction with America Online’s acquisition of Netscape
Communications, is home to products that meld part of the old
Netscape Web software and some of Sun’s software offerings.”
“Both iPlanet and Red Hat, Research Triangle Park, N.C., are
demonstrating the software in their booths this week at LinuxWorld
in New York.
The alliance already offered versions of its directory server
and delegated administrator server for Red Hat Linux.”
