“ApplianceWare Inc. (formerly REALM Information Technologies),
providers of affordable, easy-to-use server appliance software
solutions, and Linux desktop device pioneer Maxspeed Corporation
today announced a co-marketing alliance that will allow the
companies to team in promoting and selling end-to-end appliance
solutions to customers. Combining ApplianceWare’s Linux-based
network-attached storage server appliances with Maxspeed’s
best-in-class Linux desktop devices will allow organizations to
deploy robust, highly reliable and easy-to-support systems for
networked productivity.”

“Maxspeed’s MaxStations use a proprietary high-speed protocol
between the client and server that offers unrivaled performance in
a server-centric architecture. On the back end, a traditional Linux
or Windows server delivers applications to the MaxStations.
ApplianceWare devices provide fast, reliable file serving and
protect the integrity of user data by storing it off the main
server. This is a pronounced advantage over traditional server
architectures, which are less reliable because of the many
applications running simultaneously.”

ApplianceWare’s highly reliable server appliance products
are a valuable addition to Maxspeed’s robust Linux desktop
architecture
,” said Wei Ching, Maxspeed president.
“Reliability, simplicity and cost efficiency are hallmarks of
Maxspeed’s products. By uniting traditional servers with
ApplianceWare’s server appliance solutions, we will deliver an
enhanced product that will be enthusiastically received in the
marketplace. This alliance is an example of the significant added
value available to customers and prospects when we combine Maxspeed
Linux solutions with leading complementary products and
services.”
