“ECCS Inc….announced immediate availability of Linux operating
system support in its Synchronix family of fault-tolerant data
storage products.”

“Officials said the decision to support Linux was based on
customer requests and market data, which predict annual commercial
shipments of Linux systems to double within the next four
years….”

Singleton said that overall demand for fault-tolerant
storage systems is growing as a result of growth in web
applications, like e-commerce, that require 100% data reliability
and 24-hour/7-day access.
Linux, popular for its operational
stability and ease of use, is also being used increasingly for web
server applications.”
