InternetWeek: Technauts To Offer Fail-Over Clustering

Technauts tomorrow is set to deliver software providing
fail-over and redundancy clusters for its eServer line of
Linux-based Internet appliance servers. The software allows users
to link pairs of the servers and, if one goes down, fire up another
server to pick up the workload.

“Technauts offers hardware servers that are specialized for
applications such as e-mail and workgroup Internet access; the
clustering software is priced starting at $299….”

“Other general-purpose Linux vendors already have their own
clustering implementations. Red Hat and TurboLinux support
fail-over clusterings in their software distributions. Red Hat is
also developing a clustered file system, called Intermezzo, which
enhances the ability for clustered servers to share storage.”
