“Software giant SAP will protect its corporate data worldwide
using an enterprise storage management solution from Legato Systems
and Siemens’ Storage Division.

Approximately 12 terabytes of data across more than 1,000
servers at SAP’s headquarters in Walldorf, Germany will initially
be backed up by the Legato-based system. The enterprise storage
management solution will also be implemented at SAP’s site in
Philadelphia, USA, before being rolled out to other software labs
and principal branches around the world.”

“SAP will use Legato GEMS (Global Enterprise Management of
Storage) to control and administer its storage management resources
across its entire organisation, ensuring that distributed
information is fully protected, and is made available when
required.”

“Protecting each of the distributed data zones, Legato
NetWorker supports
all the client and server operating systems
currently used by the company, including AIX, HP-UX,
Linux, Reliant Linux, Solaris, Tri64-Unix and Windows
NT.”
