LOCAL: Dallas/Fort Worth Unix Users Group demonstrates GNOME 1.0 Desktop

The GNOME project announced
yesterday that GNOME 1.0 is released. The Dallas/Fort Worth Unix
Users Group (DFWUUG) will be demonstrating this new desktop,
showcasing its features and technical aspects.

North Texas residents are encouraged to attend. After the Unix
meeting, the Linux SIG will be demonstrating the newest GNOME
desktop.

The DFWUUG meets at the Compaq offices on the corner of LBJ and
Preston Road. Here are some detailed
directions
.

The Unix meeting begins tonight at 7:00pm, with the Linux
meeting beginning at approximately 8:30pm, lasting until 10:00pm.

Come out and meet some new friends, talk to Dave Whitinger
(co-founder of Linux Today), eat some free pizza, and have a great
time.
