Android Development Environment Setup

This tutorial describes how to create Android applications with Eclipse. It is based on Eclipse 4.2 (Juno), Java 1.6 and Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). The great thing with Android programming is that all needed tools are free and you can use Linux, Windows or Mac operating systems. We’re going to install and configure the following software in order to start Android programming: – Java JDK – Android SDK – Eclipse – Android Development Tools (ADT) – Android Virtual Device (AVD).
