“Cybernet Systems Corporation today announced the industry’s
first Linux-based Internet file server appliance software to be
available through retail channels. NetMAX FileServer, part of a
suite of NetMAX thin servers, dramatically simplifies Linux server
installation and management, and creates a network appliance that
offers such enhanced capabilities as print and CD-ROM sharing,
backup services and more. A relatively unsophisticated user can set
up a NetMAX FileServer for Windows, Macintosh and UNIX systems in
as little as 15 minutes through a few simple mouse clicks.”

The true power of the NetMAX FileServer is in simplifying
Linux,” noted Greg Emery, vice president of marketing for
Cybernet.
“While Linux is recognized for its power and
rock-solid reliability for server applications, it’s notoriously
difficult to install and configure. We’ve simplified this
configuration and management, while at the same time enhancing the
package with a number of additional capabilities. This creates an
extremely low-cost server appliance for virtually any
application.”
