“Interwoven…a leading provider of content management software
for the enterprise Web, today announced its intention to offer
OpenDeploy, its Web content replication software, for the Linux
operating system. General availability is planned for February.
Now, in addition to its support for the operating systems Windows
NT and Unix- IBM AIX, HP UX, SGI IRIX and Sun Solaris, Interwoven
will now support the Linux operating system. This gives Interwoven
a comprehensive content replication offering that serves customer
needs across all major environments.”

“It is increasingly important for vendors to embrace all the
standard operating system platforms, including Linux,” said Rikki
Kirzner, Research Director, Application Development Tools at IDC.
Web tools must be as open, interoperable, and scalable as the
Web itself. By providing OpenDeploy for Linux, Interwoven is
responding to the market need for tools that run on all
platforms.

“OpenDeploy software enables organizations to distribute and
synchronize Web content in automated, scheduled and transactional
deployments. It gives organizations a secure, flexible and scalable
solution for cross-platform content transfer to, and syndication
between numerous production servers. With OpenDeploy for Linux,
Interwoven customers will have increased support for their
heterogeneous production Web server environments. According to a
recent Gartner Group online survey of IT professionals, over 30
percent are running the Linux operating system.”
