CNN: Microsoft blames old software for House e-mail slowdown

“Microsoft says a three-year-old version of its e-mail server
software, called Microsoft Exchange, was the cause of a slowdown in
the U.S. House of Representatives e-mail delivery system earlier
this week.”

Microsoft Exchange 4.0 has a limitation of 16 gigabytes of data
per server, a ceiling that was broken on Tuesday when more than 1
million messages flowed through the servers, according to
Microsoft.
