PC owners woke to the promise of a refund for Microsoft’s “Windows
tax”.”

“Major Australian PC makers contacted by IT have been in contact
with Microsoft and were still considering their responses to the
expected protest. Their PR firms have been put on notice and have
prepared standardised responses to deal with the issue.”
