“Dave Taylor is one of the pioneers of Linux gaming, starting in
1995, he was instrumental in creating a Linux port of id Software’s
Doom. After leaving id, he started Crack.com which developed
further Linux and Windows games such as Abuse and Golgotha. Now,
almost 5 years later Linux has progressed from a hobbyist operating
system to an increasingly popular alternative to Microsoft’s
Windows and Apple’s Macintosh.
“We recently had the chance to sit down and talk to Dave, about
his thoughts regarding his involvement at id, and what his thoughts
are on the present and future of games in Linux.”
