How Open Source Software Blooms: Gource Version Control Visualizations From Google

Creative projects have a life of their own, and this is nowhere more clearly demonstrated than by open source software. A few years ago, Google developed a tool called Gource that allows programers to create animated videos out of the log files of their code repositories (specifically those using Git, SVN, Mercurial and Bazaar.) What these videos reveal is the very biological process that software goes through as a person or a group of people work on it.
