IT-Analysis: Linux clustering to land next week

“Giganet is expected to later this month launch a Linux version
of its cLAN clustering software for the hugely popular free-source
operating system. cLAN has previously been available as Giganet’s
clustering solution for Windows NT 4.0 but now the company has
finally managed to get it running in a fashion suitable for the
Linux OS.”

“Previously the ability to run clustering software across a
number of Linux servers has eluded many vendors because of the
complexities associated with getting the servers to communicate
quickly enough. But Giganet claims to have overcome this problem by
adding extra weight to its clustering software in the form of
additional support from a set of application specific high-speed
switches, which the firm has developed.”
