Korea Times: Domestic Software Firms Rushing to Create Linux Consortium

“Domestic software makers are teaming up with one another to
form a joint company to seize a market for Linux, a free operating
system that threatens the turf of Microsoft’s Windows.”

“Namo Interactive, a homepage editor maker, and Dr. Ahn’s Anti
Virus Laboratories Inc., a leading computer virus firm, said they
will launch a joint firm for Linux on Dec. 1.”

The joint Linux company will secure a position for Korean
firms in the looming Linux market worldwide and also offer a chance
to export our own Linux package
,” Namo and Dr. Ahn’s Lab said
in a joint statement.”
