[ Thanks to Linux

“Linux Orbit recently featured the Helixcode web site in its
Spotlight section after their announcement of the release of Helix
GNOME 1.2, Preview 2. Like many, I read the news, thought to myself
“That looks cool” and filed it away in the back of my mind.
When updating the Spotlight recently, I visited the Helixcode
site and found the “Go GNOME” upgrade button. What followed was the
most pleasant upgrade experience I’ve ever had.”
“After hitting “Enter” in your terminal window, you must select
a server from which to download the Helix GNOME Installer. After
selecting the server, it downloads and runs which brings up the
Installer dialog box… From here, you’ll select several options
for your Helix GNOME installation. Click “Next” to proceed to the
dialog box… Here you’ll see options for running the install
remotely or locally. If you have a high speed connection, you can
choose to install from a Helixcode Mirror or another site online.
If you download the packages or have Helix GNOME on CD, you can
select Local Media for the install. (You can download packages for
Helix GNOME 1.2 at ftp://ftp.helicode.com/helix)”
“(Editor’s note: depending on your distribution and connection,
we recommend a remote install only for those with faster than a
128K connection. If you are on a 56k modem, download the needed
packages and the installer and then run them from your local media.
The total download for a Red Hat 6.x install is over 130
megabytes.)”
