“Phat Linux is primarily aimed at Windows users, who want to try
out Linux without having to worry about re-partitioning the whole
disk and doing multi-boot setups. This review is based on Phat
Linux v3.3 which became available in January.”
“The Phat Linux distribution is supposed to be installed on
a computer that already has Windows 95/98 installed on it. I’ve
been told that Phat Linux won’t work with Windows ME. The reasons
for this, I’m told, is that Phat Linux requires access to some DOS
functionality which isn’t available with Windows ME.“
“Just plug in the Phat Linux CD and run setup.exe from within
Windows. The install routine is very short and very easy to follow.
Just remember to specify the amount of RAM in your machine. During
the install it will take a few minutes to inflate all the files
contained in a 240 MB big zip file.”
