Linux — a free computer operating system — has begun to
earn substantial credibility from companies looking for reliable
software to run their businesses.

Systems, Home Depot and The Days Inn chose the Linux software
platform to run critical parts of their business….”

run a pilot program to test the success of putting its 7,000
dealers on a Linux-based computer system, according to Scott Shaw,
co-founder of Framingham-based Antarctica IT, a Linux consulting
firm.”
