“Code released this week will let Linux users, for the first
time, access SNA mainframe resources.”

“Jay Schulist, the programmer in charge of the open-source Linux
SNA project, today is posting Linux tn3270 communications client
software on the Linux SNA Project Web site (samba.anu.edu.au/linux-sna/).
Linux users will be able to pull data from SNA applications, send
it over a TCP/IP backbone and incorporate it into Linux apps. An
industry standard, tn3270 technology delivers SNA 3270 data over
TCP/IP backbones.”
