“Shout is a UNIX tool for the shoutcast mp3-streaming system.
The shoutcast system is a client/server system for streaming mp3’s.
A client, here called a source client, connects to the server and
feeds it a mp3-stream at a given bitrate. Other clients, called
destination clients, connects to the servern and the server feeds
the mp3 stream to them. Shout supplies the two types of clients,
for Unix. Clients for windows are already available as plugins to
Winamp (like you care =>). The source client is called shout,
and the destination client is called listen.”
