Silicon.com: Compaq brings Linux to the desktop

“Open source operating system, Linux has taken a step closer to
the corporate desktop with Compaq’s decision to pre-install the
software on six of its PCs.”

“Compaq has signed a deal with Linux distributor, Red Hat, to
improve compatibility between Linux and Compaq’s Tru64 version of
Unix. Three Deskpro models are included – EP, EN and EN SFF. The
AP, SP and XP Professional workstations will also offer Linux.”
