for a Linux edition of its emerging Sash Weblications development
environment from the www.gnome.org Web site, plus “Weblication”
plug-ins that will include a Lotus Notes client. The Sash
Weblication software is one of a dozen Linux-oriented projects
completed this summer by a group of IBM interns, including a Linux
client for WorkSpace on Demand (WSoD) and new Enterprise Javabeans
(EJBs) for distributing streaming video over the Internet….”

both Gnome and KDE–two emerging desktop environments for
Linux.“
“Under IBM’s vision for Sash, non-programmers will be able to
produce complicated applications for a variety of desktop and
mobile operating systems, largely by pointing and clicking. Sash
consists of two main components: a template-based toolkit and a
“Weblication” runtime environment. End users will be able to
automatically install a Weblication by downloading a plug-in from
the Web, a la Real Player, for instance.”
