Star-Tribune: Linux not ready for prime time — or Windows

“Linux, a free and easily modified version of the Unix operating
system, recently was touted as a rival of Microsoft Windows by no
less than Microsoft itself.”

“Unfortunately, I concluded that Windows should pick on somebody
its own size.”

“While Linux might be the easiest-to-use version of Unix so far,
it has years to go before it can challenge Windows 95 or Windows
98. Linux is hard to set up, difficult to use and lacks meaningful
business software. I’m no casual user of computers, having been
involved with PCs since 1983. But I’m a novice where Unix is
concerned.”
