UnixReview.com: NuSphere MySQL

“Overall, NuSphere MySQL is a pretty decent product.
What it brings to the table is mainly convenience, but for many
folks that’s quite a bit. The Gemini table type is really the only
thing that differentiates NuSphere’s MySQL from the official MySQL
release.

Is it worth paying $299 for something that you could largely
assemble yourself? That depends entirely on your budget and how
much time you’d like to spend installing and configuring software.
If you’re running Linux, odds are you have MySQL, PHP, Perl and
Apache packages to install already.

NuSphere does sweeten the pot by including quarterly updates,
which means you might spend less time performing updates. Since the
support included with the $299 package is limited to installation,
the support isn’t that compelling.”
