Baccus is an open-source robotic arm project aimed primarily at educators and researchers, but because it is seeking funding on Kickstarter, it also poses value to robotics enthusiasts or people who just want to see the latest and most unique crowdfunded scientific advancements.
Designed by I Heart Robotics, Baccus is currently a working prototype capable of lifting a 12 ounce can. More funding is needed to get it where it needs to be, though. For example, the base needs to be more rigid to prevent liquid spills, and the company wants to design a USB interface for the device.
