“Mandrake 8 looks good so far (more in my upcoming review); it
looks like it will make a great Apache/PHP/PostgreSQL
development/deployment platform – and having the server prebuilt
with https support is *much* appreciated.”

“There are still some rough edges (as shown above) but I’ve yet
to run into any show-stoppers (although I did have an annoying
fight with the automatic hardware detection; more on that in a
later article).”

I hope this article saves you a few minutes in getting your
configuration running! Experienced Linux users would not have
trouble getting around any of the annoyances above, but a new user
fresh from the Windows world (welcome!) would probably have
indulged in some serious head scratching.
