“… the manual is quite good overall although not quite as good
as the RedHat 6.2 Deluxe manuals. The translation has been improved
from the SuSE 6.2 manuals, and the loss of some technical
documentation is made up for by the improved installation
sections.”
“SuSE 6.3 is an evolutionary improvement on SuSE 6.2; the new
graphical installer does a good job of simplifying the installation
process for those new to Linux; however it is still not as
newbie-friendly as the Corel/Caldera/Mandrake/RedHat
installers.
“The amount of software included with the distribution is
staggering; Debian claims to have the largest number of packages
for their installation, however SuSE includes far more “commercial”
applications – the inclusion of StarOffice, Blender etc. are
welcome.”
“I would not hesitate to recommend SuSE 6.3 for people who
are technically inclined. As long as you can follow the
documentation you should not have any problems installing SuSE
6.3.”
