[ Thanks to David Sugar
for this announcement. ]

The ACS
project
is pleased to announce support for “/dev/phone” based
telephony devices as found in the newest Linux kernels (2.2.14 and
above) with the newest release of ACS, available for immediate
download. ACS offers a
scriptable GPL licensed multi-line telephony server for the Linux
operating system and already supports both Pika and Voicetronix
hardware under Linux. With the addition of “/dev/phone” support,
ACS can now be used with Quicknet LineJack cards and future
telephony hardware that may choose to support /dev/phone based
drivers.

ACS also offers TGI (Telephony Gateway Interface) and a new TGI
perl module to support development of telephony enabled perl
scripts for database query, telephone based system administration,
and telephony web integration, as well as ACS’s own native
scripting environment and dynamically loadable telephony “plugins”.
ACS demonstrates that highly reliable multi-line telephony
solutions can be successfully developed and deployed under
Linux.
