Adobe Kills Off Flash for Mobile Browsers

“This news comes as a huge relief for both Steve Jobs’s fans as
well as HTML5 supporters as the future of mobile won’t be in the
hands of a monopolistic company. The late Steve Jobs who criticized
Adobe back in 2010 with a simple post titled ‘Thoughts on Flash’
was spot on when he pointed out some of the platform’s
shortcomings. Flash, he said, was not open, was unreliable, had
security issues, and wasn’t suited for mobile as it consumed a huge
amount of battery life. Rarely comes a time when FOSS enthusiasts
and Apple agree upon something and that was one of such rare
moments.”
