“Axis Communications, a leader in network connectivity and
mobile Internet solutions, announced today a new low-cost embedded
system platform intended for running native Linux environment. At
the heart of this platform is the ETRAX 100LX, a newly optimized
systems-on-a-chip processor appropriate for a wide range of
networking and embedded applications. This 32-bit 100Mhz RISC
CPU has native 10/100 Ethernet, USB, ATA, serial, parallel and SCSI
interfaces. Designed with embedded Linux developers in mind, the
ETRAX 100LX also features a Memory Management Unit (MMU) for
running standard Linux kernels.

“To support application development, Axis is also providing
evaluation units, developer boards, development tools, Open Source
software, reference designs and complete technical
documentation.”
