“Conversay has announced a second deal to bring its speech
recognition software to an embedded Linux project, this time with
PalmPalm technologies, developers of the Tynux embedded Linux
variant, which plans to introduce a Linux-based smart phone.”

“PalmPalm’s smart phone is built on another prominent player in
the embedded Linux space: TrollTech’s Qt/Embedded, a toolkit based
on the same software that forms the foundation of the KDE desktop.
The company has also partnered with Opera Software, which produces
the Opera web browser. When completed, the phone will, according to
PalmPalm, provide total voice control of its cellphone, PDA, MP3,
and digital video capabilities. The company plans to demo the unit
next week at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco.”
