“No need to jail-break your phone or anything

“Google has been working diligently on its Android phone OS, and
update 2.2 is coming up quite soon. So far, the Linux-derived phone
OS is selling well, recently thought to have overtaken the iPhone
in monthly sales.

“Version 2.2 will support USB tethering, without the need to
have to resort to warranty-breaking software like many other phone
OS’s. This is a great feature which will allow you to bring
Internet connectivity to other portable devices you may have, such
as say, a netbook portable computer.

“In addition, with 2.2 you’ll be able to set up a WiFi hotspot.
So for example you could at home setup a wireless network, to
easily swap files about, or make pretty much free VOIP calls from
your Adroid phone. Which is very convenient and economical for
people that make many long distance calls.”
