Hello everyone,

Welcome to the Apple Public Source announcement list. We want to
thank everyone for the energy and enthusiasm with which they
responded to last month’s launch of the Darwin Operating System,
especially those of you who helped download the160,000 components
in our first month!

Today we are pleased to ratchet up our involvement with Open
Source via two major announcements:

– An update to the Apple Public Source License, based on
feedback and discussion with the Open Source community http://www.publicsource.apple.com/apsl/

– The Darwin Streaming Server, an Open Source version of the
QuickTime Streaming Server http://www.publicsource.apple.com/projects/streaming/
