“Over the last several years I have seen great leaps and bounds
in terms of ease of use for Linux based operating systems (have to
keep the purists happy 🙂 which I will refer to as simply Linux.
Because I am lazy and don’t want to write Linux based operating
system all the time.

“Before it used to be a challenging task to install Linux onto a
computer and have it recognise and configure all devices. Now,
modern Linux distributions aimed for desktop usage are, dare I say
it, almost windows like in the ability to detect and configure new
devices. I do say almost because with modern day Linux’s you do not
need to install external drivers for the most part. The hardware
“just works” 🙂 This is a big plus in my humble opinion.

“Of course Linux is not perfect, it does have it’s kinks and
foibles but what operating system doesn’t? Dwelling on them is the
subject for another post altogether. The point of this article is
that Linux is now much easier to use however, it is now more
dangerous.”
