“I think this is the first time I’ve ever posted a review of a
version of a Linux distribution. I think that’s in part because I
don’t consider myself technically competent in Linux to write a
real ‘technical review’, but I thought with Zenwalk, the lead up to
my choosing it and changing to using it were a post in itself, so I
thought I may be able to write about that.

“Like most Linux enthusiasts, I’ve probably installed tens of
distros, kept many on them barely days before trying another. I
have though generally kept to certain distros for quite a while; I
started with Caldera’s OpenLinux, moved to Mandrake, then Red Hat,
then Gentoo, before going back to Fedora Core 3, and then 4. I’ve
always thought thought that as Linux has many variations, it is
therefore used in just as many different ways; a review then, is
only meaningful if I state exactly what I want, and like in a
distro…”
