“Applix, Inc…. announced today that the Company has signed a
deal to provide the Burlington Coat Factory with their Applixware
Office for Linux.

Burlington Coat Factory will deploy Applixware
Office for Linux across their enterprise to 264 retail stores

in the US and will use the software to provide word processing,
spreadsheet, email and database capabilities to managers and
employees. Burlington Coat had previously chosen Dell Computer
Corporation to provide 1,250 PCs for office management applications
running Red Hat Software Inc.’s version of Linux.”

According to Michael Prince, Chief Information Officer of
Burlington Coat Factory … “We made the choice based on the
features of the product along with it’s ability to integrate into
our corporate systems, I’m pleased to say that Applixware met all
of our criteria, and in addition Applix’ provision of technical
support through their www.SmartBeak.com website assured us that we
would get great service.’ “
