“Invisible Worlds, Inc. announces the launch of BXXP.org, a
community web site for developers. Invisible Worlds, Inc. of
Petaluma, CA, the primary sponsor of the web site, made the
announcement today at the O’Reilly Open Source Conference meeting
in Monterey. BXXP stands for Blocks eXtensible eXchange Protocol,
which is a component of the Blocks architecture developed by
Invisible Worlds co-founder Marshall Rose. BXXP, an XML-based
protocol, is currently under review by a working group of the
Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), a crucial step in the
adoption process for Internet standards. The mission for the new
web site is to facilitate and promote the development and use of
BXXP.”

“Kris Magnusson, Director of Developer Relations, at Invisible
Worlds, said, “BXXP is a robust and innovative solution that solves
an enormous number of technical problems. It is a great new
protocol framework for Internet applications and will have
immeasurable benefits for Internet communications. BXXP.org is
already hosting community projects related to BXXP or to the Blocks
architecture, and will provide the infrastructure necessary to get
BXXP-related projects up and running.”

“Designed to help facilitate communication between members
of the open source community, BXXP.org helps developers to host
their own BXXP projects and participate in other projects as
well.
BXXP.org provides a collaborative software development
environment that will include source control, bug tracking, and
project administration. In addition, the site will maintain
technical information related to the BXXP framework and will
provide easy downloads for developers, as well as a complete list
of BXXP-related Internet drafts. An automated FAQ system is another
benefit for developers at the site, as well as a database of
community members, project mailing lists, and project
administration facilities.”
