“Web-based applications provider Cambridge Interactive today
announced it is offering unlimited use of its Power Steering
application to open source development projects. Developers can
sign up online at www.psteering.com.”

“We’re offering the open source software community a way to
build more effective teams and drive projects forward,” said Andy
Singleton, CEO and CTO, Cambridge Interactive. “Power Steering is
designed to take the burden of project management off of the
developers’ shoulders so they can focus on doing what they do best
– developing great code.”

“Power Steering allows teams of any size to collaborate in
real-time and to view a project task menu listing everything from
an overview to task detail. Power Steering can keep a widely
scattered team focused on the most important goals and
deliverables. One example, of an open source software project,
currently driven with the help of Power Steering is Project JEDI
(“Joint Endeavor of Delphi Innovators”), an international community
of developers working together on open source Delphi projects.
“Since we are all spread around the world across different time
zones, it is very hard to keep the group focused on the hierarchy
of tasks with a good overview of the overarching goals,” said
Michael Beck, JEDI project co-organizer. “Power Steering makes this
a breeze.”
