“Red Hat…announced today the resignation of Frank Batten, Jr.
from the Company’s board of directors. Batten, Chairman of Landmark
Communications, Inc., cited an interest in devoting his time to
venture investment opportunities.”

“I began my association with Red Hat as a venture investor, and
have thoroughly enjoyed helping the Company grow to its current
size,” said Batten. “At this point, I believe the Company will
benefit from having a director with the experience to guide it to
the next level and beyond.
I have every confidence that the
board and management team will be able to continue to build on Red
Hat’s position as one of the world’s leading open source software
companies.”
