“internet.com (Nasdaq: INTM), the E-Business and Internet
Technology Network…announced that it has acquired
LinuxCentral.com…a leading e-commerce site which sells hardware,
software and other products geared for the Linux and Open Source
community. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.”

“The acquisition is part of internet.com’s ongoing commitment to
further develop its growing network of Linux resources. Recently,
internet.com acquired LinuxToday.com, edited by founder Dwight
Johnson. The site will complement internet.com’s LinuxPlanet.com,
of which Linux veteran Kevin Reichard is managing editor.”

Our objective is to provide the Linux and Open Source
communities with superior content, community and commerce
services,” said internet.com chairman and CEO Alan M. Meckler.

“As software and hardware merchants like Red Hat (Nasdaq: RHAT),
Caldera, Cygnus and SuSE, Inc. continue to accelerate the
popularity of the Linux-based operating system, sites like
LinuxCentral.com will amplify this growth by making Linux products
and services available at discount prices.”
