“High Performance Linux RAID Software With GUI Is Placed in
Open Source.”

“LAND-5 Corp. announced today that it is licensing its enhanced
Linux RAID software under the Mozilla Public License for the
benefit of the entire open source community.”

“This code includes significant functionality and performance
upgrades for Linux RAID software, plus a user-friendly browser
interface. The LAND-5 enhancements allow Linux to now address
mission critical storage needs at the enterprise level.”

“Research and development activities undertaken by LAND-5 have
resulted in considerable improvement in Linux software RAID
performance, making it a viable alternative to hardware-controlled
RAID for mission-critical storage. RAID levels 0, 1, 4 and 5 are
supported. Functionality to set-up and dynamically manage SCSI RAID
storage is included in an easy-to-use graphical user interface
(GUI) that works with any industry standard Internet browser.”

“We recognize that maintaining our leadership in Linux storage
technology is benefited by the open exchange of information to
promote the use of Linux in the enterprise marketplace,” stated
Norm Dawson, president of LAND-5. “Releasing this software to the
open source community establishes Linux as a practical alternative
for applications requiring high availability storage.”
