“Time is running out to nominate an individual from the
Linux development/Open Source community to fill a board position on
the International Softswitch Consortium (ISC).
“This is the
second year in a row we have had the privilege to sponsor a
corporate seat for the Linux/Open Source community on the
International Softswitch Consortium,” said Alan Knitowski,
President and CEO of Vovida Networks. “Achieving widespread support
for open source, royalty free standards within datacom and telecom
is a goal we share with the Linux development/Open Source
community. This is an excellent way to ensure their voice is
heard.”

“Additional information regarding the position, nominating of
candidates and voting at the Vovida Networks website,
www.vovida.com, in the Open Source – Linux section of the site.
Last day to submit nominations for the position is Friday,
August 4, 2000.
A list of nominees will be posted Monday,
August 7, 2000, at the site. Voting will also be conducted at
Vovida Networks’ website August 14th – 17th. The election is being
held in conjunction with the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo (San
Jose Convention Center).”

“The International Softswitch Consortium promotes industry
support for open standards and protocols that will provide the
foundation for most voice over IP products and services. Further
information about the ISC can be found at their website at
www.softswitch.org.”
