“Linux-Mandrake(TM) 6.0, distributed by Macmillan USA as part of
their ‘The Complete Linux(TM) Operating System 6.0,’ has been named
‘Product of the Year’ in the LinuxWorld Editor’s Choice Awards.
Mandrake also captured first place in the server category.”

“‘The Complete Linux(TM) Operating System 6.0’ featuring
Linux-Mandrake(TM) and its ‘Deluxe’ and ‘Secure Server’ editions
contain the Mandrake-enhanced versions of the popular, open source
Red Hat(R) 6.0.”

“According to LinuxWorld Editors, ‘…it does an excellent job
of smoothing out some of the rough edges of the Red Hat 6.0
distribution. What you end up with is a better Red Hat 6.0 than Red
Hat 6.0 itself.’ The Editors cited Mandrake’s automated update
software and its optimization for Pentium processors as distinct
advantages. MandrakeSoft claims that the latter boosts performance
by 5 to 30 percent.”
