“Tripp Lite, a world leader in the manufacture of power
protection equipment, continues to be recognized for its support of
the Linux development community. Linuxcare, a leader in providing
comprehensive services for Linux and open source software, has
certified that Tripp Lite UPS Systems and PowerAlert Software are
compatible and fully supported under the Linux Red Hat
distribution. Linuxcare Labs, the product certification arm of
Linuxcare, is the first independent testing authority to inaugurate
a comprehensive program for certifying hardware and software for
use with the Linux operating system.

“We are pleased to receive yet another endorsement of our
products’ ability to work within the Linux platform,” said Mike
Delgrosso, Tripp Lite’s Director of Software Development. “Tripp
Lite understands the importance of seamless integration with
distributions such as Linux Red Hat, and is committed to providing
Linux users with the most comprehensive power protection solutions
available.”

“Linuxcare Labs offers a vendor-neutral testing methodology that
embraces open standard and prevents platform fragmentation,” said
Doug Mackbee, General Manager of Linuxcare Labs, Linuxcare, Inc.
“Certification by Linuxcare Labs gives Linux users the assurance
that the systems and components they purchase are fully supported
under the major Linux distributions. The Tripp Lite products have
been tested and shown to exhibit full functionality under the Linux
kernel and are logo tested for Red Hat 6.2.”
