“Mission Critical Linux LLC today announced the appointment of
Bill Arvidson, a seasoned engineering and support manager, as the
Company’s Director of Customer Care. In this position, Arvidson
will be responsible for developing new service offerings and will
apply his expertise to building, managing and deploying worldwide
support centers for Mission Critical Linux.

“Arvidson comes to Mission Critical Linux after spending more
than 20 years in a broad range of engineering positions with
Compaq, Digital Equipment Corporation and Raytheon Service Company.
Most recently, Arvidson managed a team of engineers responsible for
resolving critical problems reported by Digital’s UNIX Operating
System customers, a position that required specialized support for
several of the most important corporate customers. He was also
instrumental in developing the company’s 24×7 support
infrastructure, which included designing patch development and a
delivery and tracking methodology. This resulted in a 250%
reduction in time-to-deliver solutions to customers and a testing
regimen that improved the total quality of all solutions provided
by 150%.”

“Arvidson also served as an educational consultant, developing
courseware and conducting workshops on a broad range of topics such
as hardware architecture and operating system internals, to VAX,
MIPS and Alpha platforms running VMS, Ultrix and Tru64Unix.”
