“OpenCon Systems (OCS) today announced that its Billing
Mediation Platform (BMP), a comprehensive and flexible data and
protocol mediation solution for billing applications, now runs on
Linux and is able to take advantage of the popular open source
operating system’s robustness, flexibility, and scalability.”

“With the OCS BMP now available on the Linux operating system,
users can take advantage of a flexible product in a flexible
environment. This not only allows service providers to take
advantage of dramatic hardware investment savings, but also enables
them to enjoy the robustness, flexibility, and rich feature set of
both Linux and OCS’ Billing Mediation solution. It also enables a
newer generation of switch manufacturers to embed the BMP in their
products.”

OpenCon Systems’ Billing Mediation Platform (BMP) is a data
mediation platform for billing applications. It provides all of the
PSTN billing mediation capabilities including CDR collection,
mediation, and distribution, as well as IP billing mediation
capabilities.
The BMP’s unique architecture and design provide
many features to end users. It can parse and format any data
stream, whether binary or ASCII, translate data from one
application to any other application, and support the addition
and/or change of new application data streams and mediations
without service interruption. The BMP’s combined features enable a
network to support both existing circuit switches and newly
deployed packet switches.”
