“Penguin Computing announced today that it has become the first
company to offer Quad Xeon systems utilizing Intel 550 Mhz
Processors. The Quad Xeons, like all Penguin Computers, run only
Linux and are now the fastest Quad Xeon systems available.”

“The announcement by the booming San Francisco Hardware and
Linux Solutions company represents yet another milestone for the
Linux community. “This is just the next step in our rapid
evolution,” said Sam Ockman, president and founder of Penguin
Computing and a leader in the Open Source and Linux communities.
“Linux users now will be able to combine the stability of their
operating system with the speed of four 550s.” Penguin Computing
was the first company to exclusively sell Linux machines and was
also the first company to sell 8 Way Xeon Servers, 2U Rackmounts
with RAID and the 1U Intel based server for Linux.”
